End of Summer

Snapped a few pix today with my point & shoot while on an appraisal assignment.

My baby birdy.

This was my little baby birdy who was born and grew up in my parents' yard. My dad found him lying on the ground and kept him for the day in one of my mom's decorative birdcages with some straw. He seemed sad to be stuck in a cage, despite not being able yet to fly. His real mama came looking for him with worms and other tasty treats, which she first fed him through the cage, until I let him out of the cage, and he soon flew away. He was so adorable and fuzzy-wuzzy.

One of these days I'll get back to non-nature photos. There is just so much life outdoors this time of year!

Damn Hippie.

I know I said no more flowers, but I couldn't resist this one. I've been eyeing it all week - it's on a tree growing on the street behind our house. Jeremiah says it's the tree that smells like semen. I didn't get close enough to tell if that's true.



















My parents have a big pond in the back. For Father's Day, I got him certified as an official Certified Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation .This is a bullfrog that lives in the pond. My dad named him Jeremiah. Both Jeremiahs seem pleased.



















This is a "Mudder." I think it's just a green frog, but since my dad made a Firefly reference without even knowing it, I'm a happy girl.
